2017 Summer schedule
***KAYAK RENTAL HUBS (NEW FOR 2017)***:
This year Upstate Kayak Rentals is expanding and trying something new! As always, we want you to explore all of our local waterways. This year, we are setting up 2 Kayak Rental Hubs in the Capital District. A Kayak Rental Hub is similar to a bike share program. Each Hub will contain 6 boats. Renters will be able to rent 2 boats in 2 hour increments. All equipment must be returned in the order it was received and locked back up in the time slot allotted to ensure the next renters are not waiting.
A smart phone and ability to download an App will be required to unlock equipment. Please note: Customers are responsible for any lost or damaged equipment.
Our pilot Hubs will be located at the Watervliet boat launch (Hudson Shores Park) and in the Town of Bethlehem (Henry Hudson Park), both great places to get out and explore more of our local waterways! Since both of these areas are effected by High and Low Tides and can experience fast moving currents during the Spring and stormy weather, we ask that renters have paddling experience and be familiar with Navigational laws. It is strongly encouraged that paddlers take a kayak paddling safety course and/or paddle with experienced kayakers.
You will be able to book your pair of kayaks in 2 hour increments through our upcoming "Reservations" software. Cost: $50.00 / 2 hours / 2 boats.
WATERFORD BOAT LAUNCH (Hourly Rentals):
As always, hourly kayak rentals are available at the Waterford Boat Launch Tuesday - Friday 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (weather permitting). Come explore where the Hudson River meets the Erie Canal and paddle around Peebles Island. Paddle up to the beautiful waterfalls and explore the river. Stop into town for lunch, or visit the farmer's market on Sundays. View all the beautiful boats traveling through the locks or take a hike over at Pebbles Island.
Cost: $15.00 1 hour or $20.00 2 hours.

This is the 7th annual Kayaking 4 Meso.
Everyone will be kayaking down the Hudson River from Stillwater, NY to Halfmoon, NY. The goal is to raise awareness of asbestos-caused Mesothelioma. Mark Wells daughter, Linda, has been battling this disease for many years. There is no known cure, but by raising awareness, & donations for research, there is hope. Monies raised will be donated to Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation.
Everyone will be launching from Admiral’s Marina at 9:30AM sharp and paddling to the Halfmoon Lighthouse Park. This is approximately an eight mile paddle and will be traveling through 3 locks.
